“Systems for People”– Revenue Receipting Project
 The first phase of the Revenue Receipting project has been a significant success for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). As a result they were awarded a 2010 Australia Day Secretary’s Citation for Innovation in advancing DIAC’s strategic themes. The award was presented for outstanding achievement and innovation in streamlining revenue receipting across business areas.

ANSTO SAP Upgrade - Successful Go-Live
 PLAUT recently successfully delivered an SAP upgrade project for
Australia's Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO). This project is the first major milestone in a larger program of work aimed at significant SAP system and process improvements for ANSTO.
Key objectives of this program are to maximise ANSTO's return on investment in the SAP solution set, as well as to increase the user satisfaction with SAP. The upgrade did bring the ERP solution to the latest technical SAP platform which allows ANSTO to capitalise on new technologies including business intelligence, portal and workflow integration.

Newcrest Mining Ltd Project Update
Newcrest Mining Ltd is a global top 10 gold mining company with major operations in both Australia and Indonesia. Newcrest began an IT project in late 2008, whereby their existing (multiple) legacy Finance, Supply, HR, Payroll and Plant Maintenance systems would be replaced with SAP, with staggered implementation dates ranging from October 2009 to July 2010.
The project has been divided into two separate streams, the MPR (Managing People and Remuneration) stream, or HR stream and the CORE stream which includes the areas of Finance, Supply and Plant Maintenance. Plaut IT and EPI-Use have provided resources to Newcrest in key roles as part of the overall delivery team.
2009 saw the implementation of SAP Human Resources across Newcrest (Australia and Indonesia) as well as the implementation of Payroll, Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS) for Newcrest’s Australian Operations.

PLAUT BI team tunes Enterprise Search Platform for Big 4 Australian Bank.
The PLAUT team engaged one of the big 4 Australian banks to run a 20 day tuning program on the Corporate Intranet Search running on Autonomy IDOL. This was highly successful and delivered immediate benefits to the business through
- better decision making and
- the mitigation of risk from the Increased Relevancy for Search results.
After detailed analysis of the existing system Plaut recommended over 20 changes to the design and developed the changes. The project was completed in time and under budget - a great result for all parties

With increasing social and legislative obligations, reporting on environmental sustainability has become an imperative for all businesses. PLAUT has worked with Bluescope Steel to provide an innovative solution to satisfy the requirements of the National Greenhouse Energy Reporting Act (NGER) 2007.
PLAUT BI delivers reporting solution including non-SAP business applications
Plaut recently delivered a Business Intelligence solution to support the key performance reporting requirements of a commonwealth government department. The solution was based on Netweaver 2004s and required data integration between SAP and three (3) third party SQL operating systems using DB Connect with delta capability. The delivery strategy incorporated both BEx Analyzer and Portal and included the use of Web Application Design, Executive Dashboard and Report-to-Report interface with ECC6.
The solution was delivered on time, on budget and has continued to operate efficiently and smoothly since implementation.
PLAUT AM team wins extension to major multi-year AM deal
PLAUT has signed an extension in the scope of services on a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract to deliver SAP application management services for a large Government Business Enterprise. PLAUT were successful in the original deal after a two stage open procurement process competing against all the major multi-national IT service providers and have now extended the service to also provide technical support.

PLAUT is delivering Quality Assurance services for a large Federal Government Department who is undertaking a major SAP upgrade. PLAUT was engaged to mitigate potential risks associated with this complex project.
PLAUT Technical team deliver Virtualisation Project
PLAUT recently delivered a virtualisation project for a NSW Government Department, migrating their SAP systems from Windows 32-bit platforms to a virtualised Windows x64 64-bit environment running on the VMware ESX platform. This project delivered immediate benefits to the client in many ways – delivering hardware consolidation, streamlined IT operations, improved flexibility, and additional high availability and disaster recovery options.
The project was delivered on budget and on time in August ’08. The duration of the project was 35 working days.
PLAUT Implements Disaster Recovery Solution
PLAUT has implemented and managed a comprehensive disaster recovery solution for a large multinational client in the FMCG industry. This multi-terabyte landscape consists of several SAP Products, including ECC 6.0, CRM 5.0, SCM 5.0 (including liveCache), BW 3.5 and EP 6.0. The project delivered benefits through significant risk reduction providing replication to off-site DR hardware and flexible recovery options for this tightly-integrated SAP environment.

PLAUT was one of the first organisations globally to perform a major SAP upgrade from 3.1i to ECC5 back in 2004. In addition to upgrading the existing system, we provided significant reductions in the cost of ownership through
- an 80% reduction in custom code replaced with standard functionality
- SEM-BCS replaced the existing customised consolidation processes, with benefits from the efficient workbench approach to monthly closure and improved BW reporting around the end of month process.
- Improved interface management with standard processes and error management
Since then we have delivered a number of small and major upgrades successfully for customers ranging from 3.1i to ECC6 to ECC5 – ECC6 upgrades where we leverage from our proven processes, accelerators and methodologies.
