John Broadbent commenced work in the manufacturing sector in 1976, spending most of his working life in engineering and production roles.  John spent a decade as a process control specialist involved in building facilities in South East Asia during the 1990s. 

His passion is to ensure manufacturers have access to the real-time information needed to manage their businesses.  John realised that there was a significant gap between the disparate manufacturing systems and ERP, which prevented them from sharing this much-needed information.  In 2001 John’s company Millennium IT, became the regional distributor for a third-party middleware suite known as LightHammer.

When SAP acquired LighHammer in 2005 and rebadged the product as SAP MII, John assisted SAP Australia work with various customers such as Rio Tinto, BHPB, Kellogg’s, CSR Limited, Tomago Aluminium and Sanitarium, utilising the MillenniumIT team’s manufacturing process knowledge to deliver world-class, high-return projects.

In October 2009, John and his team joined Plaut IT to create the only SAP Partner in the region that can deliver ‘shop-floor-to-top-floor’ integration using SAP’s products. 

John has a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) from University of Technology Sydney.
